What is a Safety/Standard Operation Procedure (SOP)?
A Safety Operation Procedure (SOP) or also referred to as a Standard Operating Procedure, or Safe Working Procedures (SWP) is a set of step-by-step instructions compiled by an organisation, to describe the safest and most efficient way to perform a certain task, carry out an operation or operate a machine/tool.
When is a Safety/Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) Required?
Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) are required for any routine, repeated activity or process associated with a medium to high risk outcome from a risk assessment (hazardous work).
